The program for subsidized housing in the community facilitates the reintegration into the community of people with severe and persistent mental health problems or concurrent disorders, by providing them with financial housing support to prevent homelessness. It meets the needs of homeless people or those who are at risk of becoming homeless, with the help of its partners in the field of housing and through the management of various housing units in Ottawa and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.

Service request procedure

For admission to the program, contact the Social Housing Registry of Ottawa (The Registry), a non-profit organization that maintains the central waiting list for people applying for rent-geared-to-income (RGI) housing.

The Registry includes many housing providers and community housing agencies working together to make it easier to apply for subsidized housing in Ottawa.
