This program aims to support Francophones struggling with a mental health disorder in their recovery process and to encourage them to participate in community activity.

The program has four service components: peer support, artistic expression, recreational activities and recovery.

Peer support includes volunteering opportunities such as leading workshops and participating in various committees. The contribution of peers is used to improve the community life of Les ateliers de l’Élan.

Artistic expression offers workshops promoting the development of expressive talent through theater, music, writing, painting and drawing.

The recreational activities component offers leisure and recreational activities such as cultural, social and seasonal outings, whose goal is to encourage participants to have fun, to socialize, to participate in the community and to create social ties.

The recovery component offers activities relevant to each person’s unique recovery process so that they can enjoy an active and satisfactory lifestyle. Programming focuses on disease management, growth, personal development and the achievement of a feeling of well-being. The following workshops are offered on a regular basis: autonomous management of medication (AMM), individualized action plan for recovery (PEER/WRAP), communication, self-esteem, emotional integration, anger management and music therapy. Participants can also take part in workshops that aim to reduce the difficulties of everyday life, like the community kitchen/health food, walking clubs, coffee meets and Qi-Gong.

The program has four service components: peer support, artistic expression, recreational activities and recovery.
