The social housing with support program is intended to accommodate homeless adults with complex needs and provide a range of customized support services to help them obtain and maintain housing.

This program has two key objectives:

1) Improve the lives of homeless people by giving them access to a range of support services to increase their housing stability and quality of life, for example, mental health community support, psychiatric evaluation, monitoring by a community physician, group addiction treatment or occupational therapy.

2) Help housing providers to maintain healthy and safe living environments while providing housing for homeless people.

Admission Requirements

Francophone adults aged 16 and over living with a severe mental health disorder

  • Lack of the necessary physical or mental health, income or skills to find and maintain housing

AND

  • 60 days of homelessness in the last year, including imprisonment or hospitalization (chronic homelessness) OR living in public housing and have a proven track record of chronic homelessness.
