Community Withdrawal Management is an alternative to Residential Withdrawal Management for those who can safely withdraw from alcohol and/or other drugs at home or in another supportive community environment. Community Withdrawal Management counsellors are available to support you if you want to stop using alcohol and/or other drugs. Services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. Participation is voluntary.
This is a service offered to people who:
- want to stop using one or more substances
- live in the Greater Ottawa Region
- are medically stable
- have a safe and supportive environment
Services
- Telephone screening and face-to-face intake
- Home visits and in-office counselling before, during and after withdrawal
- Pre-withdrawal planning
- Monitoring and support during acute withdrawal and support phases
- Assessment and referral to treatment programs and other community services
- Treatment planning and transitional case management
- Information and support for family members and friends
- Flexible hours
- Telephone support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Physician for consultations
- Collaboration with your family doctor
