Community Withdrawal Management is an alternative to Residential Withdrawal Management for those who can safely withdraw from alcohol and/or other drugs at home or in another supportive community environment. Community Withdrawal Management counsellors are available to support you if you want to stop using alcohol and/or other drugs. Services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. Participation is voluntary.

 

This is a service offered to people who:

  • want to stop using one or more substances
  • live in the Greater Ottawa Region
  • are medically stable
  • have a safe and supportive environment


Services

  • Telephone screening and face-to-face intake
  • Home visits and in-office counselling before, during and after withdrawal
  • Pre-withdrawal planning
  • Monitoring and support during acute withdrawal and support phases
  • Assessment and referral to treatment programs and other community services
  • Treatment planning and transitional case management
  • Information and support for family members and friends
  • Flexible hours
  • Telephone support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Physician for consultations
  • Collaboration with your family doctor
